Junihitoe

Japanese clothing is amongst the most elegant on earth. I particularly love the formal kimonos like uchikake (a former noble ladies coat now worn for weddings), but nothing beats in formality the junihitoe.

It is a multi layered silk robe originating from the Heian era, worn by noble court ladies, and now used by the imperial family for the most formal events. The hairstile is the osuberakashi, also from the Heian era.

The imperial princess Akiko of Akashino wears:

Junihitoe: Junihitoe Karaginumo -> Tamayura

Fan: Hiougi -> Tamayura

Hair: Osuberakashi for Junihitoe -> Tamayura

Mesh head : Precious-> Fiore
